After reading Laurent Giret’s post, “Office LTSC 2024 Commercial Preview is Now Available” on the amazing Thurrott.Com I decided I would give it a shot and try and mess with the newer version of Excel that is coming out sometime in 2024 and get support until 2029.
Now some readers might ask why I don’t just use Microsoft365 or something well it’s simple I did the math Microsoft Office Home & Student 2021 the most recent version costs $150 and got support for 5 years while a Microsoft365 account [the web version of Office with some extra features] would cost you $349.95 over the same 5 years.
Now I only really bother using Microsoft Office due to EVE Online Excel Add-in so having a good option makes sense. I also use it for macros I use in my hobbies.
I plan to create some blog posts about running it inside a VM so stay tuned for that; So far no issues but I really plan to see how far I can push it in the long run.
