Meta Quest 2 First Use: As Content Creator

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Meta Quest 2 for content creation; using it for the past few weeks, and, sweet lord, is this device amazing for such a small device? One thing I really want to attempt is some meditative content.

The first thing I attempted was running VRC [VRChat], as that was something I’ve looked at for a while. I was shocked at how smoothly it ran. As a test, I chose to use a model of Max from Lagomorph-Thingy from Steve Purcell’s iconic vigilante private investigator duo “Sam & Max: Freelance Police.”

For those wondering how I have my setup working, it’s quite simple but also ingenious at the very same time. As you see, dear readers, what I’ve done is acting on the Quest version of VRC while screen recording on the desktop version of the application.

I’m still trying to figure out how to work it into the workflow of the production pipeline. One option I’ve been looking into is recording green screen or blue screen footage to then Chroma key out in the final version, as I am still working out the kinks for live content creation.

I’ve also seen some people talk about using Mocap Fusion for Blender, which could work as DAZ3D. My main character creation software does support Blender exporting; if anyone knows of a method of doing it directly through DAZ3D so I don’t have to deal with the nightmare of NVIDIA Iray and Blender, that would be very helpful.
